Otterix — Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for Otterix subscriptions. It should be read with our Terms of Service. In this policy, "Otterix", "we", and "us" mean Rent Shell Pty Ltd (ABN 14 690 073 691) trading as "Otterix".

1. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded, including that services are provided with due care and skill and are reasonably fit for purpose. If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy (such as a refund or re-supply) as required by law. This policy operates in addition to those rights.

2. Subscriptions and billing

2.1 Otterix is billed monthly in advance in Australian dollars (AUD), inclusive of GST. Current plans: Basic AUD $100/month and Premium AUD $150/month. 2.2 There is no free trial. You choose a paid plan when you subscribe.

3. Cancellations

3.1 You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. 3.2 Cancellation stops future renewals. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid monthly period, and you retain access until then. 3.3 We do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a monthly billing period that you cancel partway through, except where a refund is required by the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law (see clause 1 and clause 4).

4. When we will provide a refund

We will provide a refund where: (a) it is required under the Australian Consumer Law (for example, where there is a major failure to meet a consumer guarantee); or (b) we agree, at our discretion, that a refund is appropriate in the circumstances (for example, a billing error or duplicate charge).

5. Billing errors

If you believe you have been charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge or a charge after valid cancellation), contact us within a reasonable time and we will investigate and, where appropriate, refund the affected amount.

6. How to request a refund or cancel

  • Cancel: use the billing/"Manage billing" portal in your account.
  • Request a refund or report a billing issue: contact us at admin@otterix.net with your account details and the reason. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.

7. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are made to the original payment method via our payment processor (Stripe).
